We are still working on the entryway {part 1 can be found here} by hanging our art on the walls. It's going to take a while to complete {we have a lot of art and there are a lot of walls}, so please relax and prepare yourself for a lot of posts with more photographs of frame walls. And don't be concerned, because once it's all done, I'll do a final post wrapping it up with all of our entryway photos in one place. Isn't that exciting? Are those champagne corks I hear popping? Well done, my friends.
This morning we started by laying out the photos on our entryway rug. It actually worked well since the inner border of our rug is about the same size as the wall we were working on this morning.
The painting of the flowers in the middle was painted for me by my Grampi when I was born. It's the most special piece of art I have, or will ever have. It therefore earned the honor of being the central focal point of our wall.
We then hung up the different frames on the wall. Now let me be frank here. I'm not a perfectionist. My husband is. We therefore had a long *ahem, friendly* debate today about whether the frames were positioned correctly on the wall. I'm hoping that they aren't as I think it adds a bit of funk and character to not have an "oh so perfect" frame wall. My husband disagrees and hopes that they look precise.
You may wonder why we painted our entryway blue in the first place. The reason is this light. It was here when we arrived and we think the blue and gray variations of the light are gorgeous. We did try to paint the walls more subtle colors (such as tan and cream), but the light simply didn't stand out. And you know what? It deserved to stand out. It's been in this house longer than any of us and is our little showpiece in the entryway. Thus, the blue paint. It makes our light POP.
More to come. Happy weekend all.

Lets see....so many things to comment about here. The color on the walls is perfect. Your hanging light I would love to have please. How great is that to buy the house with it there already? The painting your grandpa painted, love it. And I think the art is hung perfect for both of you. I see both side there. Well done!
Devon, I love it all.. the color, the frames, the light, the wainscoting, all of it!!

That light is ever so beautiful. The art looks great (even displayed on the rug). The champagne is on ice.
Your choices are just wonderful.
I use to do a layout for pictures. Now I paint and constantly change them. You have done a great job.
