In a storage container (plain cupcake boxes for me), I place:
- 2-3 clementine oranges
- 2-3 cinnamon sticks
- packet of cloves
Add a sticker or placecard outlining the directions for making the potpourri:
- place orange peels, cinnamon sticks and cloves in a pan filled halfway with water
- bring to a boil and then turn down to a simmer
- enjoy the heavenly smell!
Here's the finished package. I add in some red/white twine and ornaments.

I do this too! I add cinnamon candies to the mix, but yours is a bit easier...It was given to me as a hostess gift, and I like to do this for neighbors, mail carriers, ect...
