The AFTER:

As you can see, we need to finish the trim painting on the fridge closet. The fridge closet, you say? Yes, I moved our fridge from its original location to a closet so that I didn't have to stare at the mass of stainless steel day in and day out. I know I'm in the minority, but I can't stand massive stainless steel appliances. The closet is around the corner from the door where you enter the kitchen and so it's not easily viewable. I love the location.
Plus, moving the fridge allowed for a baking center for me. I'll show you that in a bit. It's pretty awesome for anyone who loves to bake.
And, you may recall the cranberry-licious BEFORE:Oh, the scary Suzie drawing on the chalkboard cupboard? That's my lovely handiwork. My son is OBSESSED with Suzie from Monsters & Aliens {a Disney movie}. He asks me to draw Suzie all the time, to build her from Legos and to sing like her. I think those that have a two-year old will understand.

Love the brown-it will look good enough for Suzy to visit when the trim is complete!!
Oh me too, I hate stainless steel, chrome, all that industrial kitchen look and always hold out for white or cream appliances, which tend not to be so peskily digital either. And I'd never have thought that I'd like a brown-walled kitchen but that looks super - classy and cosy.
i love that chalkboard closet thing you have- so cute that you draw for your son up there too :)
I love it!!! I have been wanting to paint our kitchen brown, but just have not gotten to it. You may just be the inspiration I needed!
Merry Christmas!
cute chalkboard door!
Brown is much better...I'm enjoying reading your blog...just stumbled over it
