Fantastic ceilingThe next major renovation on our list is the basement. It's happening next summer but, as you all know, planning renovation of essentially an entire floor takes some significant planning. The last couple of months have been spent on look-books such as these. The next couple of months will involve making some final decisions and actual purchases.

I'm thinking of a claw-foot bathtub painted a charcoal black on the outside.

Stunning cabinetry
Our basement is quite sizeable but completely unfinished. Once complete, my hope is that it will include a laundry area, a galley kitchen, a bedroom/craft room, living area, storage and bathroom.

My inspiration for the basement? Ralph Lauren. Every picture that I see of cozy, vintage living spaces reminds me of him. And I think that look would be perfect for a basement.

We actually have great daylight in our basement and some fantastic vintage windows. I'm planning on painting them black on the inside.
I'll shortly post one "before" picture of the basement. I ask in advance that you take a deep breath before reading that post. It was the bathroom area and I've actually never seen anything so disgusting.**I apologize that some photo credits are missing; if you know who to credit, please let me know**

love all these inspiration photos- they are very cozy feeling and perfect for a basement- great choices!
That's a whole lot of extra houseroom to get. I like the look - classy, peaceful and timeless. I like the way it's not an overtly feminine feel. Men will sit around there reading books on Victorian inventions and get underfoot while you're trying to polish the brass if you're not careful.
pretty devon! I totally get the 'look', and think it will look great!!!!
